Asahina & Maki with Kansai Symphony Orchestra CHOPIN 1949 [Remastered]

The year 1949, the 100th anniversary of Chopin's death. Japan was still in the fourth year after the war, and the situation was harsh. A recording of a radio broadcast of Chopin's "Piano Concerto No. 1" by two geniuses, performed as if to inspire that era, has been discovered.
This is the oldest complete recording of Chopin's "Piano Concerto No. 1" in Japan. It is a private recording made by an enthusiast at the time, and because it is an anodized aluminum disc, there are some parts that are poorly preserved. However, it is the only sound source that allows us to remember the passionate performance of the time. Please enjoy this moving masterpiece.

*In the second half of the first movement, between 7:05 and 7:13, which is the end of the second side of the disc, there is a periodic noise and a part of sound loss due to the damage of the groove of the original disc.
Also, please note that due to the time constraint of the broadcast, the long orchestral bars 25-122 at the beginning of the first movement are omitted, as mentioned in the announcement at the end, and the following bars 123-131 are covered by the announcement as played.
